Dr. Maria Antonella Ruffino, MD, EBIR, FCIRSE is a Vascular Interventional Radiologist, Head of the Department of Interventional Radiology at the Institute of Imaging of Southern Switzerland, in the Regional Hospital of Lugano ,and part of Centro Vascolare Ticino.
She earned her medical degree from University of Torino Medical School and completed residency in Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at University of Torino Medical School and a second level university master in Interventional Neuroradiology from Università Vita – Salute, San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Ruffino performs as a first operator EVAR, TEVAR, Ch/B/FEVAR, peripheral aneurysms treatment, aortic and iliac-femoro- popliteal, and BTK revascularization, diabetic foot procedures, carotid artery stenting, PTA and stenting of visceral arteries (renal celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery), PTA and stenting of renal and hepatic artery in transplanted patients, AVM embolization, emergency endovascular procedures for trauma (bleeding, pseudoaneurysm treatment), vena cava filter implantation and removal, deep venous stenting.
Dr. Ruffino is a member of the Italian Society of Medical Radiology (SIRM), of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and fellow of CardioVascular Society of Interventional Radiology (CIRSE). She is also fellow of the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). 
She is involved as principal investigator or co-investigator in several international studies and an invited speaker and participant at many national and international congresses. She is also author of scientific publications, including original articles in peer review journals and book chapters.
