Is an interventional radiologist working as a consultant at the Policlinico of Abano Terme – Padua – Italy.
He is the Director of the Fellowship Programme on CLI.
An active researcher, he has published several articles on peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot and
critical limb ischaemia.
He is Associate Professor of Angiology and Vascular Surgery at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de
Mexico (UNAM). He is an honorary member of the Swiss Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
Dr Palena is also Co-Director of the Critical Limb Ischemia Course (CLIC) and Director of CLIC LATAM
(Critical Limb Ischemia Course Latin America).
